It was a little over a 100 years ago....

...a great war was fought (WWI) all over Europe and it was one of the bloodiest wars the world has ever seen. Twentieth century military technology (that now included tanks, planes, submarines, and chemical warfare) coupled with tactics from the previous century, all but guaranteed high casualty rates.

More than 10 million people would lose their lives...

In this event titled, 'The Experience of War: WWI to Iraq and Afghanistan', Jeb Wyman (the creator of What They Signed Up For) will give a presentation on WWI and the effects it had on soldiers and the parallels to soldiers experiences from today's wars.

Following Jeb's presentation, a panel of storytellers from What They Signed Up For will also share the passages that resonated with them from 'WWI & America', and will talk about their own experiences.

This event will be considerably different from other planned book readings and will be something you definitely don't want to miss!
